Dear Dr. Cooper:

As you know in the early 1980’s I had a serious voice problem known as spastic dysphonia. I visited many medical doctors who diagnosed the problem as flu, allergy, paralysis, etc. The medical doctors at UCLA said it was an incurable permanent problem but they recommended surgery to help alleviate the symptoms.

Dear Dr. Cooper,

I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with you on my voice. I know you understand the SD problem so well and know that it is reversible. I appreciate your knowledge, experience, and desire to help people. I will spread the word about my problem and hum-talk to everyone I can. As you said, we have to go public with this simple and effective treatment. Thank you!

Roberta Zuckerman

– February 19, 2005

In the recovery room after Thyroid surgery, I developed a blood clot in my throat. I was rushed into the operating room by my Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeon to remove the clot. In the process, the nerve in my right vocal cord was nicked causing a unilateral cord paralysis. This is not an unusual occurrence with complications; however, it was the first incident of this kind to happen to this ENT doctor in his very many years of practice.

Still Cured After 30 Years

My name is Norma Young, a former patient of Dr. Morton Cooper

When I lost my voice I was devastated and so embarrassed I couldn’t handle it.

Then I met Dr. Cooper at his office and I was so impressed by him – he gave me the hope I needed. I couldn’t wait to get started. I worked hard at my lessons and put up with the pain.

Dear Dr. Cooper,

Thank you for the return of my wife's voice. I am writing this letter so you can post it on your web site, and perhaps our story can help others with Spasmodic Dysphonia get real help to correct their voices.

Our story begins in January, 1997, when Laurie's voice became almost inaudible due to a cold. This happens occasionally, and we thought nothing of it. After a few weeks, her cold was gone. So was her voice. Unlike previous occurrences, this time her voice did not return to normal.

Marjorie Whitman

– October 29, 1991

My sister-in-law, who is a teacher in Los Angeles, had cut out an article in a teachers' magazine about a teacher Dr. Cooper had cured of spastic dysphonia. My symptoms were the same, so I decided that if she received help I could also be helped.

I came to Dr. Cooper's office in October, 1987, in desperation. I was in so much pain from the top of my head down to my middle back that I could hardly bear it, and I spoke only in a broken whisper.

Dr. Cooper saved my voice. He can save any voice, I believe…I had spastic dysphonia, a condition thought to be hopeless... Dr. Cooper saved my voice, he saved my career, and he saved my life.

Dear Dr. Cooper, I want to thank you so much for helping me fix my voice. You are the first person in my eight years of studying voice who found the root of the problem and gave me real solutions. Prior to meeting with you, I had no idea of the profound impact your simple yet effective exercises would have on my life. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet you in person.

Best regards,
Joan Trent
