Dear Dr. Cooper,

It was a pleasure to speak to you by telephone today. Three years ago this month is the anniversary of my four-week visit to your clinic.

The following is my story:

My name is Timothy Kidwell and I am 49 years old. For 27 years I have been a minister for the Church of Christ as was my father and grandfather before me. To say I live by my voice would be an understatement. Nothing is more important to me than being able to preach the gospel to the lost. I am one of the many success stories that Dr. Morton Cooper can cite regarding the effectiveness of his treatment for those who have been diagnosed with Spasmodic Dysphonia.

20-Year Update

Dear Dr. Cooper:

After only two sessions with you my voice is back to normal - the sore throat is no longer, and the belching has ceased.

Twenty years ago you rescued me from throat pains, chest pains and exhaustion by teaching me how to properly use my voice. Unfortunately, I lost the technique but you very quickly put me back on the straight and narrow.

You are the best!

30-Year Update

Dear Mort,

In addition to the many phone calls you and I have exchanged over the years since I completed my vocal rehabilitation, I am prompted to express once more in writing my deepest appreciation to you for your marvelous work in assuring my complete recovery, some 25 years ago.

Dear Dr. Cooper,

I'm writing this letter to you to let you know how thankful both myself and my family are for your many years of expertise in the field of voice rehabilitation. Without your knowledge of how to treat the disorder called Spasmodic Dysphonia, I would still be suffering from this voice disorder today. Below is a summary of what took place for the past 5 years of searching for a cure for my voice affliction.

As I consider Dr. Cooper's work, I see it as a ministry, providing help, hope and wholeness for people who have reached the point of giving up on ever communicating normally again. Dr. Cooper's therapy is simple but effective as he teaches us to use our voices the way God intended them to be. And as Dr. Cooper's techniques work wonders, there is a feeling of re-birth, not just for the voice but for the whole person.

Dear Dr. Cooper,

Thank you for sending a copy of your most recent book, Stop Committing Voice Suicide. I was very pleased to receive it today and was able to read it completely while watching my Anatomy of Speech and Hearing students in two sections take an examination on the respiratory system.

I must tell you, I was impressed with the book and I am going to require it as required reading for my ComD 681 course on voice disorders this winter quarter. In fact, I have already submitted the order through the University Bookstore to have them ready for winter term.

Dear Dr. Cooper,

Thank you for saving my voice twice.

As you know, over 40 years ago, when I was a young lawyer, I lost my voice and you brought it back with skill and patience. Your work enabled me to have a very successful career.

Just recently I lost my voice again and you, once again, saved it. Thanks again. Keep up the good work.

Dear Dr. Morton Cooper,

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! And your well-deserved testimonial from me.

Seven months ago I had a break from singing on a cruise ship. I caught a cold virus and just by a one in one million chance the virus slipped on my left vocal cord and paralyzed it and left me speechless and to say the lest I most definitely couldn’t sing which was my livelihood.

You can control Spasmodic Dysphonia, but only with the right information.

Dr. Cooper gave me the right information to defeat my voice problem that I had for years. Now my spasmodic voice is gone.

You are a great spirit Dr. Cooper, and in my opinion you are the male Mother Theresa.

Now I will confront other things with conviction now that I have a voice that can be heard and understood.

This is Luana Hess and I think you're just great. Great, great, great. That's all I can say. I have talked 12 hours in the emergency room today. I just graduated...I drove around with my daughter for 1 ½ hours. We talked with the windows down. For the first time in six months I actually sang a couple notes. I just sang some sounds. It sounded like my singing. I was so excited I drove up to my mothers and I said "mom, listen," and I sang a couple of notes. I'm not going to push it yet but I'm really excited. The first day after that red eye home it was kind of rough at work.
